Freeman Valley New Zealand

The Freeman Valley New Zealand Project. Freeman Valley NZ has taken on shape in the form of an idea that has grown almost into a reality. A few of us here have taken on the idea and over the past 9 or so months actively been looking for the right place to make our stand. It has taken us almost all over New Zealand, and we almost ended up on the East Cape in a wonderful pine forest, but alas it was not meant to be. From there it has been one very interesting trip, and we are now looking at the Far North at an old native forest. What we are trying to create is a small cooperative of Freeman and likeminded people who can see the vision of creating a future that is sustainable.

Well, we haven't secured a valley yet, but we have moved out of a house of 6 years, sold almost everything, and bought a house truck.
http://house-trucking.com is the blog for that, I'll see if we can link it here too.

Along the way, we have had quite a few time wasters, and time=money and too much has been wasted.
A lesson learned is to simply go ahead without hanger-ons who waste time, and get on with it.

We are doing exactly that. Next spring, (NZ Oct 2011) we move onto a piece of land, which is Crown Free, and outta this world. A piece of maori Land, private and secure, and with room for ourselves and possibly another. We are also negotiating a further chunk of land to secure for grazing, where we intend to maintain a small heard of cattle and sheep, for obvious reasons.
An organic permaculture vegetable garden will be dug in, and with the waterfall nearby, we reckon we can generate our own power this time next year.

Thats if it all doesn't end before then!
